Invent to Learn: making, Tinkering and Engineering in the Classroom

21 12 2013

By Sylvia Martinez and Gary Stager is a brilliant compilation of all the considerations of turning a conventional classroom into one where students are fully engaged and learning to a deeper level because they are making articles as part of their study/learning.
One review claims the book to be ” full of the pragmatics of effective teaching and learning”. I would also add that it is very well sequenced with elaborate detail given in each chapter.
It is a must read for anyone looking for ideas to engage their students in a practical understanding of their learning. It is an ideal vacation read for any teacher looking to challenge their current pedagogy and be inspired to modify it for next year.
