U.S. Speed Limits

30 04 2015

As our daughter drives in the U.S. she is challenged by a number of differences with Australia, like driving on the other side of the road, 4 way stop signs where whoever arrives first has right of way and the speed limits. Mostly speed limits are 45, 55 miles per hour etc. reading 5’s instead of 10’s as in Australia is a new experience. As the limit increases or decreases it normally changes by 10 miles per hour, even if over a fairly close range. This allows for more economical driving and smoother traffic flow than the Australian habit of changing from 80km/hr to 60 or 50.
